Editorial Abstract: Morgan Rowlands is a teenager like everyone else, whose life changes when Cal Blaire comes to high school. Handsome, charming and mysterious, he is immediately loved by all. When Cal hosts an evening to get acquainted with other students, the boy explains that practice Wicca. This form of white magic is an ancient religion that celebrates nature. Megan is irresistibly attracted. Cal offers interested to see her regularly to continue to practice Wicca. The girl developed a passion for these appointments and sharpens the interest of Cal, who sees her as a potential witch.
About the Author: Cate Tiernan is the author of three series of novels for young adults with magic as a common point. He holds a degree in Russian language and literature at university New Orleans, she worked at Random House Publishing before devoting himself entirely to writing. Cate Tiernan now lives in North Carolina with her two daughters, her husband and step-son.

The first volume of Wicca includes the first three books in a series published ago 10 years in the United States and contains 15 books. She arrives in France with the collection radius Youth Black Moon that already in January published another series by Cate Tiernan: Immortals. If we can find common ground between the two novels, Wicca has a strong energy I was very pleased. Wicca is a religion or a philosophy of life that is founded on respect for nature and draws its inspiration from the white magic. The Book of Shadows is the book of Wicca that is a sort of diary where witches and wizards enroll their rituals and spells.

Based on this thrilling plot, Wicca is a young adult novel in the tradition of classic love story in high school, the vagaries of adolescence ... The novel is directed toward the intimate thoughts of Morgan. Discrete, passing unnoticed, shy and reserved, Morgan is pretty good student and good friend. She left willingly stepped on by his best friend Bree. A new student arrives at school. Handsome, charming, he soon became popular and was noted for its originality. He invites friends to a party and Morgan made it a ritual of welcome. Every person reacts differently to this revelation, Morgan feels an attraction to Wicca and Cal. Dive into the history books of Wicca, she feels ready for an initiation further ...

I loved this first volume as I enjoyed Immortals. Cate Tiernan has a monster talent to develop an atmosphere and we do enjoy an atmosphere of intrigue, suspense and mystery. Here the reader will have plenty of time and leisure to soak up all the items retrieved through the beginning of each chapter. Citations of sorcerers, excerpts from books, rituals, spells, diary extracts ... all combine to immerse ourselves in this world full of secrets of witchcraft. If the love story between Morgan and Cal is predictable, the plot is surprising for its progressive thanks to an effect of increasing power. The Book of Shadows introduces the characters, the heroine and the discovery of yet delicate and fragile movement of thought that impressed by its originality and the positive effect it produces on human beings. Inspired by nature, Wicca celebrates the Goddess and exerts an irresistible attraction even when the person who introduces you makes you crack! We understand why Morgan wants to know more. The other two parties The Witch Coven and blood are more insightful and introspective. Morgan realizes that involves magic, she made choices and will revelations of surprises. Initiation quest, key development staff are fantastic and a good book of Wicca learning that must be taken for what it is: a young adult novel entertainment.

A very big thank you to Cecile and Hachette for the discovery
The plug on the book Reading Academy with extracts and criticisms
A very interesting article that I invite you to read, that of Melo offering an excellent reflection on Wicca in children's literature including a possible danger of indoctrination and influence of the Wiccan message on today's youth. She did a great job of research and asking questions. It HERE
