Listed as a vintage of the literary season, 2010, Flowers for Zoë , wanted to be a road movie of a sexagenarian seeking solace in a crisis of old age. Richard feels depressed the win when he announces his retirement to his secretary. He lives in New York, is divorced and he expects to reach Key West, to enter a retirement home. But on his way, Richard meets Zoë: Zoë's smart and delicious, which makes it crazy. Zoë, twenty-two years, full of enthusiasm, freshness and dynamism. Richard did not know what to do: take them where their link does?

Both tell you, this first novel by Antonia Kerr did not seduced. I did not find any reflections on old age and the love story between Richard and Zoë bothers me tremendously because it is largely based on the libido and sex. So I do not know where the author was getting at but it seemed very bland novel: 150 pages of a depressed man, who asks about his adultery, his divorce, his daughter, his life but this is well lacks consistency. Only positive point: the character of Zoë, elusive, vibrant and radiant. She gives the content of this couple atypical.
